Moving Isn't As Easy As It Looks

JAKARTA (VOA) — President Joko Widodo spoke out regarding the postponement of ASN's move to the prospective capital city of Indonesia, in IKN. He explained that the ASN will move if all the infrastructure and facilities are ready. “Everything is seen from the existing facilities, are they ready? Indeed, some are ready, but some are not. I think we also move if we are really ready, including me, we must be really ready,” said Jokowi, who was met after the inauguration of the Djuanda Fly Over, in Sidoarjo, Friday (6/9). Therefore, said Jokowi, the government always coordinates so that all preparations can be accelerated so that the target can be achieved. Furthermore, Jokowi acknowledged that building a new city, especially a government city, is not easy, as is moving ASN. “This is a big job, the IKN is a very big job. So it's not as easy as we imagine moving, because it involves moving, right? Is the house ready? Is the apartment ready? If the apartment is ready, is the water ready, the electricity ready too?” he explained.
