No charges have been filed against Donald Trump or his campaign staffers after the altercation at Arlington National Cemetary Monday. A report Tuesday revealed that officials at the cemetery "tried to prevent Trump staffers from filming and photographing in a section where recent U.S. casualties are buried. The source said Arlington officials had made clear that only cemetery staff members would be authorized to take photographs or film in the area, known as Section 60."Trump was photographed with smiles and thumbs up while standing on the grave of a soldier killed in Afghanistan in 2021. The expression prompted questions and criticisms from observers and critics. The cemetery released a statement saying that federal law prohibits political campaign-related activities within Army National Cemeteries. The prohibited activities include “photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign."Trump was attempting to create a photo-op to attack President Joe Biden for the rapid Afghanistan withdrawal, which was a deal he negotiated, The Military Times explained. Trump has been criticized over the past several months over comments he is said to have made disrespecting American soldiers. Former chief of staff, Gen. John Kelly once alleged that Trump didn't want to go to the World War I cemetery in France while it was raining. Kelly said that Trump called the soldiers there "suckers" and "losers." Trump famously attacked the late Sen. John McCain's (R-AZ) military service because he was captured.
