Britain calls for cooperation in Europe against the far right

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed concern about the growing threat posed by far-right groups in Britain and called on progressive political parties across Europe to work together to meet this common challenge. Britain was gripped by anti-immigrant protests earlier this month after a deadly stabbing attack at a children's dance class was followed by false claims, backed by far-right elements, that the attacker was a Muslim asylum seeker. Speaking on Wednesday during a visit to Germany, where the Alternative for Germany, an anti-immigration party, has been strengthened, Mr Starmer said populism would fade if conditions for people improved and promised that in Britain this would happen before end his first term. “We in Britain need to be alert to the challenge of the far right and populism and nationalism.
