A rocket fired by Yemeni militants lands in Israel

A rocket fired by Iran-backed Yemeni rebels landed in an open area in central Israel early Sunday, setting off air raid sirens at the international airport. Israel hinted that it would respond militarily. There were no reports of casualties or major damage, but Israeli media broadcast footage showing people running to shelters at Ben Gurion International Airport. Activity at the airport quickly returned to normal. Fire could be seen in a rural area of central Israel. The Israeli military said it made several attempts to intercept the missile through its air defenses, but has not yet determined whether it was successful. The military said the missile appeared to have disintegrated in mid-air and that the incident is still under investigation.
