In fact, he said, malnutrition can be categorized as the world's worst child health crisis. A report from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation released on Tuesday (17/9) predicts that between 2024 and 2050, an additional 40 million children will experience stunted growth, and another 28 million will suffer from wasting, the most severe form of malnutrition, due to the impacts of climate change. “Unless you get the right food, both in the womb and in your early years, you're never going to catch up,” Gates told Reuters in an online interview last week. He pointed to the physical and mental capacities of children being stunted by a lack of good nutrition. Children who do not get enough nutritious food are also more susceptible to diseases such as measles and malaria, as well as premature death.
