Investigators Probe Motive of Trump Assassination Attempt Suspect

U.S. investigators are examining social media accounts and other posts from the suspect in the latest assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, trying to determine a motive and whether others may have been involved. Police in Florida arrested 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh, stopping him on a major highway Sunday (9/15) night after he fled former President Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida. Officials said data collected from Routh's cell phone showed he had been waiting for 12 hours, hiding in bushes along a chain-link fence between the golf course's fifth and seventh holes. Routh has been charged with possession of a firearm as a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. But officials said when Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) investigators tried to speak with Routh after his arrest, he invoked his right to an attorney and did not speak.
