Star power: Dark Sky Week radiates through Grand Lake

Dark Sky Week, happening April 13-20, is a global celebration of darkness and champions the protection of dark night skies. Participants are encouraged to pledge their support through quality outdoor lighting choices that align with the five principles of responsible outdoor lighting. As of this year, there are 20 certified dark sky areas in Colorado — more than any other state, according to Dark Sky Colorado. Last summer, Grand Lake started the application process to become a dark sky community.
