Colleton County considers moratorium on data centers

Colleton County officials have an opportunity to send a clear, strong message: artificial intelligence (AI) data centers are not welcome here. Plans for a proposed 800-plus-acre data center to be located in this South Carolina Lowcountry county, as well as any future plans for other data centers there, may be halted as the Colleton County government is now considering a data center moratorium.
