129 acres of green space saved with new Joppatowne park

Land that was slated to be developed into more than 250 single-family homes in Joppatowne has been preserved by the Harford Land Trust and will become a public park as early as 2027. The park, Foster Branch Park, is located off Trimble Road near the 350-home development Ridgely’s Reserve in Joppatowne. In 2008, owners of the 129-acre land subdivided the property with the intention of building more than 230 homes. In 2020, the owners applied to increase the zoning density of the property from R1 to R3, which is the highest density for residential housing zoning in Harford County.
