Prison gynecologist abuse allegations

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A federal court in California partly tossed claims in a civil rights dispute brought by the California Coalition for Women Prisoners, which represents a class of women who say they were sexually abused by a gynecologist while serving time at the California Institution for Women. While claims against some of the other prison officials at the prison are dismissed from the action, any dismissal motion concerning the gynecologist is too early to consider. The class has yet to be certified, and claims against him can be better reviewed after the class is fully defined.
