The state of Texas issued 75 subpoenas this month to law enforcement officers, survivors, victims’ family members and more, compelling them to testify in the trial of school police officer Adrian Gonzales, set to begin Jan. 5. Gonzales is charged with 29 counts of child endangerment and abandonment for his role in the Robb Elementary School shooting response on May 24, 2022. Jurors will use these 75 individuals’ testimonies to determine whether Gonzales, by allegedly failing to distract or delay the shooter before he entered the school, put the 19 killed and 10 surviving children in danger that day.
