Majority of Uvalde officers still working locally post-Robb

Thirty-seven of the 64 local law enforcement officers that responded to the May 24, 2022, Robb Elementary School massacre are still working with Uvalde agencies and at least nine have been promoted since the tragedy. The deaths of 21 Uvaldeans inspired widespread outrage against law enforcement’s failure to act, and reform-based legislation like the federal Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and the Texas Uvalde Strong Act.
