Capitola Avenue bridge reopens after almost 2-year closure

CAPITOLA — After a nearly 24-month closure, the Capitola Avenue bridge reopened for public use Friday. “The opening of the Capitola Avenue Overcrossing is an exciting milestone for our community and a tangible example of how we are investing in a safer, more connected, and more multimodal transportation network,” Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission Chair Eduardo Montesino said in a release from the agency. “The new bridge will improve everyday travel today while supporting long-term connectivity to future projects.
