'Justice!' Trump jubilant as top foe indicted

President Donald Trump took a victory lap Thursday evening as news broke that a grand jury had indicted former FBI Director James Comey.Comey was reportedly indicted by a federal grand jury on two charges of making false statements and obstruction of justice. The charges stemmed from his testimony before Congress in 2020 about the FBI’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and the handling of sensitive information related to that probe.Trump expressed elation on his Truth Social platform at the news."JUSTICE IN AMERICA! One of the worst human beings this Country has ever been exposed to is James Comey, the former Corrupt Head of the FBI. Today he was indicted by a Grand Jury on two felony counts for various illegal and unlawful acts. He has been so bad for our Country, for so long, and is now at the beginning of being held responsible for his crimes against our Nation," wrote Trump.The charges come amid intense pressure from Trump for Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Justice Department to prosecute Comey and other Trump critics.
