Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg to discuss the situation in Ukraine, reaffirming the government's commitment to working with the U.S. administration toward mutually beneficial outcomes. Shmyhal shared details of the meeting on Telegram, according to Ukrinform. "A constructive meeting with U.S. Special Envoy Keith Kellogg. Ukraine continues to bravely and resolutely resist Russian military aggression on our sovereign territory, and we are grateful to the United States and the American people for their support in this war waged by Russia," Shmyhal said. He also briefed Kellogg on Ukraine's daily resistance against Russian aggression and provided an overview of the country's economic situation. "Despite the war, we continue to develop our defense industry, maintain social spending, and ensure that every taxpayer's hryvnia goes to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Our economy is fully mobilized for wartime conditions. The government stands ready to work alongside the U.S. administration to achieve pragmatic and mutually beneficial results for both our countries," Shmyhal added. He also highlighted Russia's ongoing attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and other war crimes, emphasizing that while Ukraine seeks peace, it must be a just peace -- with strong security guarantees and accountability for the aggressor. He stressed that any negotiations regarding peace in Ukraine must involve Ukraine itself. Shmyhal noted that Kellogg's mission is to help establish a just and lasting peace and assured him of the Ukrainian government's full support. "We count on U.S. leadership in ensuring a fair and enduring peace," Shmyhal concluded. The post Shmyhal briefs Kellogg on military and economic situation in Ukraine appeared first on Freedom.
