Trump and Starmer Sign U.S.-UK Technology Prosperity Agreement

During U.S. President Donald Trump’s state visit to the United Kingdom, the two countries signed the so-called “Technological Prosperity” agreement, aimed at deepening collaboration in cutting-edge sectors such as quantum computing, nuclear energy, and artificial intelligence. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described it as the largest agreement of its kind in British history, noting that it will generate billions in transatlantic investments and deliver tangible benefits for people across the UK. In addition to technology cooperation, Starmer emphasized the UK and US joint commitment to supporting Ukraine amid ongoing Russian aggression. Speaking about the latest Russian offensive, he said: "Putin has shown his true face, launching the largest offensive since the start of the invasion, resulting in more bloodshed and civilian deaths." Starmer noted that discussions with Trump also covered strengthening defenses, supporting Ukraine, and increasing pressure on Vladimir Putin, adding that Trump has “paved the way” in backing Ukraine. Meanwhile, Donald Trump reflected on his past efforts to mediate the conflict, expressing disappointment with Russia’s approach: "I thought I could quickly end the war in Ukraine because of my relationship with Putin, but he let me down," he said.
