During his visit to Denmark, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen highlighted Russia’s ongoing aggression and outlined plans to reinforce Ukraine’s defense capabilities. Frederiksen stressed that Russia continues its war with support from Iran, North Korea, and China. “We are ready to continue supporting Ukraine. This means more weapons, more ammunition, and more sanctions,” she said at a press conference. Zelenskyy warned that Russia relies on winter attacks to target Ukrainians beyond the reach of its troops, emphasizing the critical role of air defense. “We must assume that continuing the war is Russia’s default scenario. Attacks like today’s have already become regular, occurring several times a week,” the president noted. He also confirmed that Ukraine has already built a strong foundation for security guarantees through bilateral deals, aiming to create a system similar to NATO’s Article 5. “Our Armed Forces will remain the core of this system. We are now detailing who will do what on land, in the air, at sea, and in cyberspace. There are also signals from the U.S. that they are ready to provide certain backup mechanisms,” Zelenskyy said. On the issue of Donbas, Zelenskyy was unequivocal: “Ukraine will not hand over Donbas to Russia. Over four years, Putin has not been able to occupy even 30% of Donbas. If he tries to go further, it would take millions of soldiers and years. That is why we will not give him such gifts.” The post Ukraine Strengthens Security Guarantees as Putin Continues War, Says Zelenskyy appeared first on Freedom.
