The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has received an additional batch of F-16 fighter jets. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a Zoom briefing for journalists. Zelenskyy did not disclose the exact number of jets delivered but emphasized that this is good news. "Additional F-16s have arrived in Ukraine. Russians are lying that they shot something down—they didn’t shoot down anything. And the good news is that several F-16 jets have arrived in Ukraine," the Ukrainian president stated. It is worth noting that earlier, the Center for Countering Disinformation reported that claims of an F-16 being shot down over the Sumy region were false—this fake news was spread by enemy Telegram channels. As a reminder, the fighter jet coalition, established in 2023 and led by the U.S., Denmark, and the Netherlands, began transferring F-16s to Ukraine last year. Ukraine received its first Dutch F-16s in October 2024, and the second batch was reported in early February 2025. In mid-February, Ukraine’s Defense Minister met with his Belgian counterpart, Theo Francken, to discuss the further implementation of the F-16 program.
