Kim declares ‘full support’ for Russia’s war in Ukraine, vows to deepen cooperation

In Pyongyang, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un supported Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in his war in Ukraine and pledged to strengthen strategic cooperation with Moscow. This was reported by Yonhap. "The government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea […] expresses its full support and solidarity with the Russian government, Army and people in conducting the 'special military operation' [war — ed.] in Ukraine with a view to protecting sovereignty, security interests and territorial integrity," reported Yonhap, citing Kim. According to North Korean dictator, Russia is standing against 'imperialist policy' of the US. While Kim stated that Russia and DPRK are diving into "a new period of prosperity" Putin thanked him for the support informed that a comprehensive document is in work to establish renewed relations between the states. Hence, Putin and Kim are expected to sign a deal on strategic partnership, aiming at the new level of bilateral relations between the countries, in the military sector in the first place. Putin arrived in North Korea on Wednesday morning, this is his first state visit to North Korea in the 24 years of his rule.
