The Czech Republic had reported about a successful delivery of the first batch of ammunition to Ukraine within a joint ammunition initiative led by the state. The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala announced it on X. "The first shipment of ammunition from our initiative arrived in Ukraine some time ago. We are doing what it takes," reads the publication. Czech officials kept their promise as they claimed that the first 50,000 to 100,000 artillery shells would come to Ukraine in June. In April, Petr Fiala said that his state had contracted 180,000 artillery shells, but had already aimed at another 300,000. Though somewhat around 20 countries have joined the Czech initiative, only five of them had transferred the funds as of May, 2024. The list includes Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Portugal and Canada.
