Türkiye, Romania and Bulgaria have embarked on a joint demining operation in the Black Sea to provide secure conditions for shipping. That's according to Bloomberg. "The Istanbul-led initiative, the first major joint action of Black Sea nations since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, is aimed at defusing mines drifting into specific areas of the Black Sea as a result of the war," the media wrote. The Bulgarian government has reiterated that the group's activities are not hostile in any way against any other country. The three states signed an agreement to jointly solve the issue of naval mines in the Black Sea on 11 January, 2024. The Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine has recently stated that the maritime corridor, launched by Ukraine in the summer of 2023, has enabled exporting 37.4 million tonnes of agricultural products via Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi ports.
