Trump claims he doesn’t support Putin’s peace offer

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has made a statement that he does not consider Vladimir Putin's offer on peace in Ukraine appropriate. He said this during a TV debate with Joe Biden. Despite rejecting Russia's ultimatum on ending the war in Ukraine, Donald Trump still accused his rival of giving too much money to help Ukraine resist Russian aggression and once again reiterated Putin wouldn't have dared to invade Ukraine if he, Trump, had been a president. "If we had a real president, a president that knew that was respected by Putin, he would have never he would have never invaded Ukraine," Trump reiterated his already-well known message, adding that the Russian dictator was encouraged by the U.S troops retreat from Afghanistan. Yet, the Republican candidate didn't explain how to end the war without supporting Ukraine or accepting Putin's 'surrender plan'. Ahead of the Peace Summit in Switzerland, Putin offered an ultimatum, also named as a ‘surrender plan’ by some politicians, to Ukraine. He has claimed that Russia is ready for a ceasefire and peace negotiations if Ukraine withdraws its troops from the occupied Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
