Due to the massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine today, July 8, Ukraine is initiating the convening of an emergency meeting of the United Nations (UN) Security Council. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a joint press conference with Donald Tusk, FREEDOM reports. Zelenskyy said that Russia struck Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, Dnieper and the cities of the Donetsk region. There is an admission to the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv. Meanwhile, UN humanitarian coordinator in Ukraine Denise Brown condemned the attack. “This is a shameless attack because children are killed and injured in this war. Hospitals have special protection under international humanitarian law. Civilians must be protected,” said Denise Brown. Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk were under attack. At the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in the capital, rescuers, doctors and ordinary citizens are clearing away the rubble, under which there may still be people.
