All deliveries under the Czech ammunition initiative are proceeding according to contracts, which Kyiv has highly praised. This was stated today in Brussels by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský, Ceske Noviny reported. Prague has already announced that, thanks to the Czech ammunition initiative, Ukraine will receive 100,000 rounds of ammunition between July and August. By the end of the year, a total of 500,000 large-caliber rounds could be delivered to Ukraine. The situation in Ukraine was the first topic discussed by the foreign ministers of European Union member states at today's informal meeting. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba mentioned delays in the delivery of military aid. "With ammunition, the promise is being fulfilled; the focus is more on efforts to ensure air defense. The situation is challenging because there are few air defense systems, and everyone wants to protect them to maintain the ability to defend their own airspace," Lipavský said. At the meeting, the Czech Republic once again called for support for its proposal to restrict the movement of Russian diplomats within the Schengen area. "There is a group of countries that support us—Romania, Poland, Denmark, the Netherlands, and the three Baltic states. But I need to expand this group and talk to those who are reluctant," Lipavský said. For nine months, the Czech Republic has been advocating for the European Union to restrict the movement of Russian diplomats within the Schengen area. According to the proposal, Russian diplomats would receive visas and residence permits that would only allow them to move within the country of their assignment, not throughout the entire Schengen zone. "This proposal aims to limit Russia's espionage activities in Europe," Lipavský added. Some countries, such as Germany, Hungary, and Italy, have reservations about this measure, fearing retaliatory actions from Moscow. Previously, it was reported that the Czech initiative could provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with 50,000 to 100,000 large-caliber shells per month. By the end of the year, the total number is expected to reach half a million.
