The British Prime Minister hinted that there “will be developments” regarding the issue of granting Ukraine permission for long-range strikes

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that a final decision on the use of Storm Shadow missiles deep into Russian territory has not yet been made, but he hinted that further developments in this matter are possible. Politico reported this. Starmer made statement followed his meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden. He noted that no final decision has been made regarding Ukraine's use of long-range strikes, but at the same time, he suggested that developments might occur during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session later this month. "Obviously, in a few days, we will gather again at the UN General Assembly with a broader group of people," the British Prime Minister said. Starmer emphasized that "this was not a meeting on specific capabilities" but added, "We have come to a strong position." Earlier media reports indicated that the U.S. and the UK had agreed, together with other allies, to allow Ukraine to strike military targets in Russia with Storm Shadow missiles, a long-standing request from Kyiv. However, the White House later clarified that the U.S. would not make any announcements about changing its policy on granting Ukraine permission to use long-range missiles following the Biden-Starmer meeting.
