The United States is willing to equip F-16 jets meant for Ukraine with its own weapons. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal. As Ukraine is getting ready to receive around 10 first F-16 fighter jets from the Netherlands and Denmark, it now can rely on the U.S. to equip it with necessary missiles and bombs such as: AGM-88 HARM air-to-ground missiles; extended-range Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) kits; medium-range air-to-air AMRAAM missiles; short-range air-to-air AIM-9X missiles; GLSDB bombs. "We are confident that we will be able to supply all of those [weapons], at least the critical volumes that they need," the U.S. top official told the WSJ. The decision is only logical as the European allies provide the jets while the U.S. doesn't. On July 10, at the NATO summit in Washington, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken mentioned that the first F-16s were on their way to Ukraine.
