Kyiv and Warsaw are interested in deepening cooperation in the defense industry, as evidenced by the recent visit of Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz to Ukraine. Ukraine also expects a delegate representation from Poland to participate in a major defense forum to be held in early October in Kyiv. This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, in a comment to Ukrinform. As the Ukrainian diplomat noted, last week, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Poland, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, visited Ukraine. "In my opinion, the visit was very successful. Several practical agreements were reached on strengthening mutual defense cooperation and cooperation between defense industries. The most important thing is the exchange of experience in countering the drone threat and countering the modern methods of warfare that the Russian Federation is using against Ukraine. It is important for us that the Polish side perfectly understands Ukraine's combat experience and how to adopt it," Bodnar emphasized. He recalled that during the Polish Deputy Prime Minister's visit to Kyiv, it was agreed to form relevant working groups and to involve third countries, in particular, NATO countries, in studying this experience. “The key to this issue is to use the potential of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training, and Education Center (JATEC), established this year, where Ukrainian officers train Alliance military personnel in the conditions of modern warfare. We are talking about the possibility of using Ukraine's experience in anti-drone and anti-missile warfare,” the Ukrainian Ambassador emphasized. Bodnar noted that strengthening Ukrainian-Polish defense cooperation, in particular, expanding the range of production and promising areas of armaments, will also be possible with the use of the European financial mechanism SAFE. According to him, in practical terms, the international defense forum to be held in early October in Ukraine will be important, where defense products from both Ukrainian manufacturers and a large number of international companies participating in cooperation with Ukrainian partners will be presented. "We are working to ensure that the Polish side participates in this event: both official representatives and representatives of the defense sector, private business, and many other industries involved in the production, maintenance, and use of weapons. I hope that our Polish partners will respond to the invitations sent and that we will have a representative Polish delegation," the Ukrainian diplomat emphasized. He also expressed hope that the forum would result in specific agreements on joint production, which would strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield and also strengthen Poland. Bodnar stressed that Ukraine still needs artillery systems, in particular, the AHS Krab, combat vehicles such as Rak and Rosomak, and the Piorun MPADS manufactured by the Polish defense industry. "This is what is already functioning on the frontline and has already proven its high combat capability. And here we are ready to cooperate and develop our potential," the Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland emphasized. At the same time, according to him, the Polish side is interested in Ukrainian air defense systems, unmanned systems, in particular, UAVs and USVs, and Ukraine is ready to cooperate with Poland in this area. As reported by Ukrinform, Acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna and Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland Marta Cienkowska agreed during an online meeting to deepen cooperation in the field of culture, preservation of historical memory, support for theater, and new joint initiatives.
