Kadijah Flament’s mother dies without getting closure

The mother of 25-year-old murder victim Kadijah Flament has died, disappointed in her wish to give her daughter a funeral. Flament left home at Lothians Road in Princes Town on June 7, 2021. Relatives said she had gone to visit her daughter in San Fernando. She did not return that night and her boyfriend became worried and alerted her mother, Anastasia, and other relatives. To date, Flament's body remains unaccounted for. A close relative told Newsday on June 24, "One last thing she said was that she got sick and did not know if her daughter had a resting place or not. "It was always on her mind, but she never liked to talk about it too much. She was a person who never liked to burden people with her problems." She was buried in her mother's grave at St Clement's cemetery on June 18, after a service at a funeral home in San Fernando. Anastasia was the mother of five, the youngest being 12. The relative added, "I was taking her (youngest child) to school this morning because she had a test. She wanted to visit her mother's grave first, so I took her and then she went to school." Many people have taken to social media to offer condolences to the bereaved family. One Facebook user posted: "RIP mama no more pain. Rest easy Anastasia Flament, yuh gone to meet Kadijah Flament." Another said: "My deepest condolences to you and your family. She will surely be missed." Since Kadijah disappeared, Anastasia had been pleading with the public for help to find her. Newsday last spoke to Anastasia in March 2023, when she said the family could not have a funeral without a death certificate. Anastasia recalled that DNA from human remains found in Reform Village in June 2021 did not match hers. Three siblings are before the San Fernando Magistrates' Court charged in connection with Flament's disappearance and murder. Kelly Phillip, 32, a nurse from Olera Heights, and her sister Faith Ramsubagh, 20, of Green Hill Avenue, Tarodale, were both charged with Flament's murder. Their brother, Kyle "Iron Beast" Delande, 27, also of Green Hill Avenue, was charged with disposing of Flament's body. He works as a scrap-iron dealer.
