All orchestra bands move to Steelpan is More Beautiful finals

Steelpan is More Beautiful 2024 ends with the finals of the orchestra category on August 24 at the Jean Pierre Complex, Wrightson Road, Port of Spain. All ten qualifying bands moved on to the finals, Pan Trinbago said in a release. Its president Beverley Ramsey-Moore said in a phone interview on Wednesday that the Prime Minister is expected to be the feature speaker there. He is Steelpan is More Beautiful’s patron. The revamped festival has been “excellent” and has received the support of the public, Ramsey-Moore said. “The turnout has been much more than we expected. Last Saturday, for the ensemble finals, the tickets were almost sold out. “Coming to the orchestral finals, we expect over 3,000 people to attend that event.” She promised that the show would be superb as the organisation's month-long activities for Pan Month draws to an end. Ramsey-Moore thanked the country for supporting the classics. “We thank you for coming out in your numbers and giving our young people that boost as they demonstrate their talent and skills on our national musical instrument.” Ramsey-Moore previously said there was another major announcement set to come from the organisation. She said this “good news” should be released before the end of August. An announcement that TT will be extremely proud about. “We have been out there lobbying for this cause,” she said without revealing more about it. Pan was having an “awesome moment” in the country, she said. She recalled that on August 18 Rowley announced that the pan would replace Christopher Columbus’s ships on the coat of arms. “Indeed, I feel great. I feel we are gaining new heights every day as we focus on this God-given instrument which we have also given the world.” She said the organisation was going to continue to work at putting pan in the forefront.
