The Sounds of Steelpan ring out at the Rotunda Gallery

YOUNG artists were given the opportunity to display their work at the Rotunda Gallery at the Red House in Port of Spain on August 7. The exhibition was titled Percussion - The Sounds of Steelpan. Organised in commemoration of World Steeplan Day on August 11, artists were invited to explore the history and cultural, social and economic significance of the steelpan through their art. Speaker of the House Bridgid Annisette-George attended the event and discussed the pieces with each of the exhibitors. She stayed up as late as midnight working on her art with guidance from her parents.
