Labour Ministry: Video on work-from home jobs fake

The Labour Ministry hassaid a TikTok video circulating on social media re its hiring practices is false. The video says the ministry is hiring for jobs allowing people to work from home at a minimum daily wage of $1,000-$3,000. In a release, the ministry said this was not true and it did not have any such initiative. It strongly advised the public to desist from interacting with this post, its accompanying link or adhering to any instructions that it provides. It reminded the public that the new national minimum wage of $20.50 per hour for an eight-hour workday became effective from January 1. The ministry said it continues to focus on its mandate, which is providing decent work, facilitating industrial peace and providingemployment opportunities through on-the-job training and job placements.
