The Malaysia-Taiwan Smart Healthcare and Medical Devices Event Series will be held online July 4 and July 11 to expand bilateral cooperation and explore global opportunities for both sides. Organized by the Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration under Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and SME Corp. Malaysia, the forum and business matching session aim to help firms in both countries better understand relevant regulations, market developments and available resources and support. According to the SMESA, the agency and its Malaysian counterpart regularly host meetings to discuss issues of mutual interest and identify areas of cooperation. As medical devices are among the sectors being promoted by the Malaysian government, especially in relation to industrial automation and digitalization, the upcoming events will pave the way for more firms from Taiwan to tap the potential-laden market in its New Southbound Policy partner country, it added. The July 4 forum will be opened by representatives from the SMESA and SME Corp. Malaysia and feature presentations by senior officials from Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Malaysia’s Ministry of Health and Malaysia External Trade Development Corp. in Taipei. The business matching event on July 11 will involve representatives from leading businesses, such as Malaysia’s UWHM Sdn. Bhd. and Bactiguard Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., among others, the SMESA added.
