‘Shōgun’ and Timothée Chalamet shine at the 2025 SAG Awards

“Shōgun” won big at this year's Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, taking home four prizes. The FX series picked up the coveted Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series award at Sunday's ceremony. There were also acting wins for stars Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki Sanada, and during the pre-show segment, the programme's stunt team were recognised with the Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series honour.Accepting their ensemble prize, Sanada acknowledged making the programme had been a "gamble".He told the audience at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium: "Thank you so much for recognising us. This is so special because it is from you guys. Thank you, FX and creator Justin, Rachel for respecting our culture and belief in us."It was a great journey and 70% Japanese, with subtitles, must have been a big gamble for them. They were so brave but 'Shōgun' and this award is showing that acting is a universal language. Thank you so much.“Some of the ‘Shōgun’ cast members on stage at the 2025 SAG Awards.
