For the first time in history, the 2025 National Budget Speech has been postponed due to disagreements over an alleged 2% VAT increase.

Political parties were not pleased to have been told at the eleventh hour that the tabling of the 2025 budget would be postponed.

National Speaker Thoko Didiza informed attendees that Cabinet will re-examine the budget and present it on an undetermined date in March 2025.
