SAPS IN CRISIS: ‘Critical we do more to support the police’ – SAPS to hold ceremony to honour officers killed in the line of duty

A total of 39 police officers were killed in the line of duty in South Africa between April 2023 and May 2024. Some, like Sergeant Kedimetse Masilo, were killed at active crime scenes, while others were killed in accidents while they worked. On Sunday, these officers will be remembered at a commemoration ceremony at the Union Buildings.
