Anurag Kashyap says Indian theatres ‘destroy’ his movie-watching experience

Anurag Kashyap, the director, has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with Bollywood.  The director has already declared his intention to leave the Hindi film industry and pursue filmmaking in the South.  The director recently discussed how Indian theatres have "destroyed" his movie-watching experience in a new interview with Forbes, which is why he primarily attends film festivals.   Anurag's words  Anurag responded, "I have stopped looking into the future," when questioned about his thoughts on the state of independent film.  I can discuss the issues that I or other filmmakers encounter and potential answers, but I cannot discuss the future.  These days, there are many new things, such as short-format  I enjoy seeing movies on the big screen, therefore I want to be a filmmaker.  I enjoy watching movies at festivals because I detest the disruptions brought on by time zones back home and the pretence that "this is bad for health, this is bad for mind."  It ruins my pleasure to watch movies.  "I am aware that my life's ambition is to make movies."  He continued by discussing his role and how he can support other up-and-coming filmmakers.  "What if everything fails and everything goes wrong?  I will return to my starting point.  Standing on the street with a suitcase on that first day in the city, trying to shoot movies.  However, I don't go much farther back.  I absolutely adore movies, and that's the case whatever.  I am certain that I want to spend my entire life making movies.  I supported other filmmakers with unique voices with everything else I did along the road.  I will be able to continue making movies if there are more voices.  It will be easier for me to make movies if there are more independent voices.  There was no ground to play on when I first started," he remarked. Despite winning awards at the Cannes Feature Festival, Anurag's most recent feature, Kennedy, has not been able to secure a distributor in India.  Although he hasn't directed a movie since, Anurag has acted in a handful, such as Viduthalai Part 2, Maharaja, and Leo.
