Korean Teacher’s Chilling Confession After Stabbing 8-Year-Old Student

A horrifying crime has shaken South Korea after a 40-year-old elementary school teacher in Daejeon confessed to murdering an 8-year-old student. According to police, the suspect deliberately chose her victim at random, driven by resentment over workplace struggles. The tragic incident occurred when Kim Ha Neul, the young victim, was leaving an aftercare program. Investigators revealed that the teacher lured the child into an audiovisual room by offering a book, then strangled and stabbed them. Authorities at Seobu Police Station disclosed that the suspect had been struggling with mental health issues since 2018. She had taken a six-month leave for depression in December but unexpectedly cut it short and returned to work earlier than planned. However, just days after her reinstatement, she reportedly felt alienated from her teaching duties, which fueled her frustration. Yook Jung Myung, Seobu Police Station Chief:   Teacher A said, ‘I was frustrated just three days after being reinstated. [Someone] prevented me from entering the classroom.’ The suspect meticulously planned the attack, purchasing a weapon before entering school grounds. She waited for students to leave the aftercare program before selecting her victim. In a chilling admission, she told police that the victim’s identity did not matter to her.
