Nepal’s Yala glacier shrinking, may vanish by 2040s: Scientists

Yala glacier in Nepal is predicted to vanish by the 2040s, due to significant reductions in area and volume. Monitoring since 1974 shows a retreat of 680m and a 36% area reduction. This glacier is critically endangered, with the Hindu Kush Himalaya region warming twice as fast as the global average.
