New law to boost government's telecom control kicks in from June 26

The new telecom law effective from June 26 grants govt emergency control over telecommunications services. It includes provisions like sections 1, 2, 10, and 30. The law will rename the Universal Service Obligation Fund to Digital Bharat Nidhi for funding research and development.
