The BSE Sensex breached the 78,000 level on June 25 and 79,000 for the first time on June 27.

The Nifty went up by 130.8 points to hit a new record high of 23,668.65.

With this the Sensex has taken shortest span of close to 138 sessions to cross the 80,000- mark.
