Malihabad mangoes beat heat, pests with butter paper shield

Farmers in Malihabad, Lucknow, are using butter paper covers recommended by the Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture to protect GI-protected mango varieties from climate change challenges. The initiative has led to improved crop quality, reduced pesticide use, opened up new export opportunities, and provided financial benefits for farmers, aiming to increase the export percentage of UP mangoes.
