Hackers have been using malicious browser extensions to infect devices of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge users. Since 2021, over 300,000 people have been affected. These fake extensions steal sensitive information and remain in systems even after removal. This has raised concerns about increased risks and further attacks on compromised systems.
