Telugu films led with 320 movies, followed by Tamil with 263 and Malayalam with 247. Hindi films numbered around 215, while English movies came in at 188. Marathi and Bengali each had 108 releases. Gujarati films totaled 94, Bhojpuri had 67, Punjabi saw 60, and Oriya had 44. Additionally, 142 films were released in other languages. The Total Collection That The Films Make: In 2023, the total gross box office collection reached approximately 126 billion. Of this, multiplexes contributed 66 billion, while single screens added 60 billion. South Indian languages captured the largest share of the box office, with Hindi films coming in second. Cinema Screens In India: India boasts a total of 9,742 cinema screens. Of these, South India is home to 4,573 screens, accounting for 47% of the total. The remaining 5,169 screens are distributed across the rest of the country. The Average Ticket Price In India: According to the statistics, Hollywood films have the highest ticket prices, with tickets costing approximately ₹237. Hindi films come next, with ticket prices around ₹196.
