Yograj Singh On MS.DHONI Yuvraj Singh's father, former cricketer Yograj Singh, has once again criticized 2011 World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Yograj has frequently spoken negatively about Dhoni in public, accusing him of ruining Yuvraj's career. However, Yuvraj himself has never made such claims and has consistently spoken positively about his former captain and teammate. Under Dhoni's leadership, Yuvraj played a crucial role in India's historic victories in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup. The left-handed all-rounder delivered some of his best performances in international cricket during Dhoni's captaincy. "I won't forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a great cricketer, but what he did to my son can never be forgiven. Everything is coming to light now. I've never forgiven anyone who has wronged me, and I've never embraced them, not even my family or children," Yograj said in an interview with Zee Switch YouTube channel. Yograj further claimed that Yuvraj could have easily played for another 4-5 years and blamed Dhoni for his son's early retirement. "That man (MS Dhoni) destroyed my son's career, which could have lasted four to five years longer. I challenge anyone to produce a son like Yuvraj. Even Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have said there will never be another Yuvraj Singh. India should honor him with the Bharat Ratna for playing with cancer and winning the World Cup for the country," Yograj added. Yuvraj represented India in 402 international matches between 2000 and 2017, scoring 11,178 runs, including 17 centuries and 71 fifties across formats. He finished his career as one of India's all-time greats and was part of the Indian teams that won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2002 (joint-winners with Sri Lanka), the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, and the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011. His last appearance for India was in June 2017 against the West Indies, and he announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket in June 2019.
