Whether it's Veer Zaara, Tumbbad or Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, the re-released films with limited shows worked wonders at the box office compared to Kareena Kapoor starring Buckingham Murders. The Hansal Mehta directed, Buckingham Murders was released on 13th September with a sum of 1.20 crores and received applause in the metros but struggled to stand in the smaller cities. A slight jump on Day 2, with 1.90 crores and another on Sunday with 2.10 crores took the total sum to 5 crores after its three-day run. The majority of the film's english language nature is blamed for its poor performance at the box office. The Shahrukh Khan-led Veer Zaara being re-released after 20 years with only 250 shows across the country, managed to collect over 20 lakhs on the first day itself. Followed by 30 lakhs on Saturday, resulting in the exhibitors increasing the show from 250 to 400 on the second day. And by the end of its 3-day run, the total reached 90 lakh total.. But it's not the only one in the race, R. Madhavan's Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein was re-released on the same day and did manage to gather a sum of 1.10 crores, 22% more than Veer Zaara. But nothing came closer to Tumbbad, a clut and critically acclaimed classic. The Soham Shah starter becomes the biggest re-release in the history of Indian cinema with over 2500 shows. After its glorious three-day run, the film gathered 7.34 crores. After the opening weekend: Tumbbad: 7.34 crores The Buckingham Murders: 5 crores Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein: 1.10 crores Veer Zaara: 90 lakhs
