Ryan Reynolds Ready To ‘offer millions’ Ryan Reynolds is reportedly willing to go to great lengths—even if it means spending millions—to secure his wife Blake Lively's future in the It Ends With Us franchise. With media interest in the alleged feud between Blake Lively and her director and co-star, Justin Baldoni, finally calming down more than a month after the film’s release, a new report has reignited the drama. According to Life & Style, "Ryan is prepared to offer millions to Blake’s director and co-star, Justin Baldoni, in an effort to buy out his stake in the franchise, allowing Blake to continue her role without having to work with Baldoni, with whom she reportedly clashed." Baldoni's production company, Wayfarer Studios, currently owns the rights to the book series. "This is the biggest film Blake has ever been a part of, and Ryan wants to ensure she isn’t replaced in the sequel,” the source added. If these reports come to fruition, it wouldn’t be the first time Reynolds has contributed to his wife’s 2024 movie, which coincided with the release of his own MCU debut in Deadpool & Wolverine. In an August 6 interview with E! News, Lively revealed, “The iconic rooftop scene was actually written by my husband. No one knows that until now.” Lively also returned the favor by voicing Lady Deadpool in her husband’s film. “We support each other,” she said. “He works on everything I do, and I work on everything he does. His successes are mine, and mine are his." According to PEOPLE, these “improvisations” caught screenwriter Christy Hall by surprise, as she was unaware of Reynolds’ involvement. Various reports have either defended or criticized both Blake and Justin, but Sony took an unusual step by publicly backing Lively after fans criticized her for “tone-deaf” promotions related to the film’s sensitive themes. Sony Pictures Entertainment Chair-CEO Tony Vinciquerra told THR in August, "Blake, Colleen, and so many women put a tremendous amount of effort into this movie, working selflessly from the start to ensure the important subject matter was handled with care. Audiences love the film. Blake’s dedication to advancing the conversation around domestic violence is admirable. We love working with Blake, and we want to make 12 more movies with her." While Sony’s public support has seemingly secured Lively’s future with the studio, Reynolds is reportedly willing to go further, seeking to buy out Baldoni from any potential sequel.
