The 25th International Indian Film Academy Awards are set to take place in Jaipur from March 7 to March 9, 2025, as announced by the organizers on Sunday. This announcement comes ahead of the 2024 edition of the awards, which will kick off on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, for the third consecutive year starting September 27. An agreement signing ceremony was held at the iconic Albert Hall in the city, attended by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. VP Singh represented the Tourism Department, while Suresh Iyer, Vice President of STJ Global Entertainment and Media, signed on behalf of the academy. Diya Kumari noted that IIFA 2025 will enhance tourism in Rajasthan, marking the second time the event is being hosted in India, the first being in Mumbai in 2019. “This will undoubtedly showcase Rajasthan’s destinations, culture, and history to a global audience. It’s a significant occasion. “As film stars and directors visit, they will discover our locations and historical sites, leading to increased film shoots, job creation, and investment opportunities,” the Deputy Chief Minister stated. The 2025 ceremony will also introduce the inaugural IIFA Digital Awards, recognizing outstanding performances in digital entertainment, film, and OTT content. IIFA serves as a globally recognized platform to promote Indian cinema to international audiences and has a substantial following among those interested in Indian films. “IIFA25 is a distinctive celebration encompassing events and awards to mark 25 years of Indian cinema, emphasizing its global reach in the new millennium and its appeal across India and the world,” a statement revealed. The event will include various activities, culminating in performances by top celebrities and the presentation of awards to the most accomplished figures in Indian cinema of this millennium. An MoU was signed between the Rajasthan Tourism Department and IIFA for the silver jubilee celebrations of the IIFA Awards, scheduled to take place in the state capital next year.
