CM Atishi Assures Delhi to be Pothole-free by Diwali

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi hit the roads of South Delhi on Monday to inspect and identify damaged roads as part of their initiative to make the capital pothole-free before Diwali. The inspection would be conducted on a 1,400 km stretch of PWD roads. On Sunday, CM Atishi held a meeting with all the ministers regarding a week-long inspection of the roads to review the conditions of the road in the National Capital. She assigned ministers to a specific area of the city in order for them to conduct the review. ALSO READ: Arvind Kejriwal Granted Interim Bail In ED Probe! The CM herself covered South and Southeast Delhi, inspecting NSIC Okhla, Modi Mill Flyover, Chirag Delhi, Tughlakabad Extension, Mathura Road, and Ashram Chowk. Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj inspected roads in east, while Gopal Rai inspected roads in northeast. Kailash Gahlot will inspect in west and southwest, while Imran Hussain will inspect in New Delhi and central Delhi, and Mukesh Ahlawat in north and northwest. After the inspection, Atishi talked to the media and said,  "For two days, Arvind Kejriwal and I inspected the roads of Delhi and found that the condition of roads is very bad... Arvind Kejriwal has given a call to all the party MLAs and ministers to work towards restoring the roads at the earliest." According to the Dehli Governments' Road Assessment and Repair plan, after inspecting the 1,400 km stretch of PWD roads, the road will be categorised as ‘complete repair’, ‘partial repair’ or ‘rebuild.' The CM has assured the people of Delhi that before Diwali, the city will be pothole-free.
