SRK-Makarand were cast as Munna Bhai-Circuit

Rajkumar Hirani's Munna Bhai MBBS revived Sanjay Dutt's career, but Shah Rukh Khan was originally set to play the lead. Dialogue writer Abbas Tyrewala shared that the character Circuit, played by Arshad Warsi, was initially named Khujli. He praised Hirani's decision to change it, finding 'Circuit' far more memorable. Abbas has also written for films like Maqbool and Pathaan, and is currently working on King and War 2.
