China censors allow a Ye gig amid economic woes

Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, is scheduled to perform in China on Sunday. The performance will be held in Hainan, an island province. This move is part of China's efforts to stimulate consumer spending and promote tourism post-Covid lockdowns. Despite previous restrictions on foreign entertainers, Ye's celebrity status appears to have prevailed.
